Haley off to Camp!
Haley left for 12 days at Camp Newman on Wednesday th 18th. It was a quick turnaround after the last trip, but the kids are getting really good at packing these days. Katelyn couldn’t attend this year because even though we signed up for camp in March, her session was already full! She ended up first on the waiting list, but nobody canceled at the last minute so she’s stuck being at home with us.
Camp pictures here.
Jennifer & Selena visit
Jennifer & Selena visited on Sunday the 15th. It’s great having regular visits with them, and this one was no exception. We had a great time playing the new Mega Europe version of Ticket to Ride, and of course catching up on each others’ lives.
The kids are back
The kids arrived home from their Chicago+ trip on Saturday the 14th around dinner time.
George’s 75th Birthday – visit to another synagogue
Val and I attended services at Congregation B’nai Emunah in San Francisco this morning, in honor of George Wertheim’s 75th birthday, which is tomorrow. The service was a bit different than what we’re used to, being more in Hebrew and using different melodies for some of the songs, but was delightful nonetheless. The congregation was very friendly and welcoming, and they even invited us, as newcomers, to do an Aliyah!
Some pictures from the trip
You can see some pictures from the trip the kids are on with Glynis and Susan here.
Celebratory Dinner
Deanna referred a great candidate to Guidewire through me, so here it is 3 months later and I’m getting a big bonus! To celebrate I took Deanna, Ravi, adn Val out to dinner at Cafe Zuni in SF on Tuesday. Yum!
No More Storage Unit!
With a LOT of help from Cutberto and Mario, Val and I emptied our storage unit on the 7th. With me coordinating downstairs and Val organizing upstairs, we were able to get almsot everything into the attic in an organized fashion so we’ll be able to find everything. Still lots of room up there! There are a dozen boxes in the house (DVDs, records, and books) and another 5-10, plus some furniture, in the garage (stuff to be gone through), but it’s looking great! And no more monthly expense. We were exhausted afterwards, but we did an awesome job!
Weird July 4th
No fireworks, no BBQ. Quiet day at home and a relatively short trip to our storage unit to scope out the Big Move. It was nice to have a relaxing day in the middle of the week.
Val’s home, Kids are gone
Dropped the kids off with Glynis & Susan at Amtrak, went shopping, then picked Val up at the airport.
The itinerary on the train has changed since they won’t stop in Grand Junction due to the fires in Colorado. Glynis is disappointed at not being able to go to Pike’s Peak.
